Arizona Senate Bill 1047
Arizona State Senator Sean Bowie has introduced SB 1047, which would make it “unprofessional conduct” for any psychiatrist, homeopathic physician, psychologist or behavioral health professional to provide “conversion therapy” to a minor, regardless of the wishes of the minor or the parents. Conversion therapy is considered an unethical practice by both the ACA and APA, as well as other professional organizations. This bill has general bipartisan support and fifteen other states have passed such a bill on this practice. Below are resources with more information on this bill.
